I hope that everyone is enjoying this week of spring break. We miss doing art with the YES-Kids. We have some really fun projects in store for them when we resume our classes. Don't forget that we start back on the 23rd and 24th of March.
This session's first art project (the Charcoal Zebra), has been posted on Artsonia.com. Invite your friends and relatives to go to the site and become your fans. They will then get an email each time you have new artwork posted to Artsonia.
The teens that met at the Blount County Library on Saturday, to design kites, did a wonderful job! Their beautiful, colorful kites will be on display starting April 1st. Drop in to the library to see them!
The kite festival will be held on April 11th at Pearsons Springs Park in Maryville. There will be food, games, competitions, kite-making and kite flying. Bring your whole family and join us for the festival. It's a very special event. Find out more about it at: www.fineartsblount.com
We have noticed some Spring flowers popping up around town. There are some Daffodils and even a few Tulips. We saw some Crocus and the Star Magnolias are blooming. So cheerful and bright! These pictures are from last Spring, but give us a sneak peek of what's to come.
I just realized early this morning that Dogwood Trails time is only a few weeks away! I am sooo looking forward to that.
ReplyDeleteAll the photo buffs will be out taking gorgeous pictures of the pink, white and salmon dogwoods blossoms. Can't wait!
From those photos might spring some beautiful acrylic, watercolor or even colored pencils works of art! Hopefully the YES-Kids will be inspired by the beauty of Spring this year. Get your digital cameras out and take those shots, Kids!
Love these photos! Can't wait to see the real things in bloom! Won't be long now! We are looking forward to the Kite Festival too, and we really hope to see all of our students there... flying kites that they create themselves! See you all soon!
