The artists of Youthful Expressions Studio have wrapped up their Winter Session with a wire sculpture scroll, depicting their own version of Van Gogh's Starry Night. It is a two-sided wire sculpture. The opposite side of the scroll shows their take on Van Gogh's Starry Night Over the Rhone. They were very innovative with it and the results are just stunning! There was a lot of acrylic paint, tissue paper, wire, gel medium and more paint used to get these results. Lots of fun was required! You can see the rest of the scrolls at www.yestudio.org/gallery
YES Kids had their 'wrap' party on Wednesday. They had some snacks while listening to some of their favorite music. After putting the finishing touches on their wire sculptures they even made a few dragons and hummingbirds using sharpies and shrink film.
Here is a group picture of them with their art teacher, Cindy. Back row: Jonathan, Garrett, Trevor, Cindy and Nicole. Middle row: Amanda, Rachel, Shaelyn and Kassidi. Front row: Katelyn, Samantha and Ashley. Artists not pictured: Sarah and Austin.
On March 2nd and 3rd, Spring Session begins. Now is the time to sign up for your spot in one of four choices of classtimes. Wow! I wonder what Van Gogh would think of these students depicting his work so beautifully on scrolls? I think he would be so proud and poor thing would not be so depressed! His life was not so great. His work didn't hit the big time until he was gone from this world. Very sad. Perhaps he can 'see' how much his work is loved and appreciated now.
